Tatting Workshops

Tatting is a fun and portable lacemaking technique. Often seen as doillies or trims on things like christening gowns, handkerchiefs, and lingerie. It was developed in the 1800’s, though its origins are merky, its believed to be developed after the popular fad of knotting. Made of a series of ‘Double Stitches’ (Larks Head Knots) over a core thread, the design possibilities are endless within the constraints of ‘rings and chains’ which are the building blocks of this technique.

Tatting tools are simple and include a shuttle and thread. In the beginner Tatting workshop students will learn how to wind the shuttle, how to make double stitches, read a pattern, and make rings and chains.

There are 3 course levels available.
